Guys who are sporting a murse, aka man-purse, are making quite the fashion statement nowadays.

If you think that the only bag a guy should carry is a backpack or a messenger bag, keep reading and you might change your mind. If you’re a guy who is simply looking to change his style with a new bag, also read on. Or, you might be a girl who thinks her man can use something to help him be more organized while adding style to his look, you, too, should continue reading.

According to urbandictionary.com, a murse is typically a little “smaller than a traditional messenger bag, and may have a slightly more stylized look to it. A murse can also be used to carry a laptop computer—one of the reasons it is so popular right now.” So, if you’re a techie, investing in a bag might be useful for more than one reason.

Like bags and purses for women, men also have a variety of different styles. Roots has a selection of leather bags if you’re looking for something classy and sophisticated. If you want something with a lot of room, try the Modern Satchel-ranger ($378) or Messenger Case-tribes ($280). For something smaller, go with the Ranger Tote-ranger ($318) or Old School-tribe ($418). If you’re looking for a strapless bag that you can just carry, choose the Urban Traveller ($348) or Large Banff Bag ($398).

So, for you guys who are too proud and feel like you’d be emasculated by carrying something other than a backpack or briefcase, try to be open minded and you might find that a murse is something that suits you, or a particular outfit that you have. And let’s face it, even though the items in a guy’s bag may not be as “top secret” as those of a girl’s, he could always use something stylish to put his wallet, keys, cell phone and perhaps even a laptop in.
