So it all came to an end..... From the BEACH to the HILLS!!!  Lastnight the cast of  the hit reality show on MTV: The Hills, hit the red carpet for the finale of their show!! FASH or BASH:D&G, Louis Vuitton & Versace!!!

[gallery order="DESC"] Hey everybody, I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but a trend this season that’s burning up the runways is the ever popular micro-mini.  So, get your Phil of Phashion this week in Fash or Bash as we give praise and raise our hemlines…..not? I know, I know….you’re sitting there reading this thinking ‘Ohhhh quel surprise! A guy writing a debate on something like a mini skirt!  Where’s the debate?’ Ladies, I come to you not as a testosterone driven puddle of drool, but a purely impartial member of the squad.  Realistically though, let’s face it, since their inception back in the 60’s, minis have been quite successful at turning heads where ever they go. What I find particularly interesting, is that despite the risqué initial aesthetic that the mini skirt first presents, it can and has been adapted to serve many a need over the years. Not only are they available in a staggering array of styles, prints, patterns and colors, but depending on one’s taste, these little nuggets from days of ‘Make Love Not War’ can be found representing themselves in a few different height categories if ya catch my drift.  Classic mid-thigh of course, but then we’ll see these other pieces that could double as a belt.  As we look to see what the cool kids are doing, D&G, Louis Vuitton, Versace, Marc Jacobs and all the usual suspects have put needle to machine to turn out some wicked creations this season.  My word, here I am doing all the talking.  While you’re sampling the wares on the catwalk, ask yourself ‘Where do I stand on the micro-mini, or even just the mini?’  Leave a comment and tell us where you are!

FASH or BASH Spring/Summer 2010 Tie Dye Trends!

  Get Your Phil of Phashion:  So have you heard about this Tye Dye rage this season?  I don’t know, I’ve been poking around and from what this writer can see.....I’m just not sold on this look.  Sure it has come a long way from its days of origin, but I just can’t embrace this with open arms. There are certain versions and patterns being sported by celebs that make this Cheech and Chong revival more tolerable, but just enough! Fergie, sporting a pair of low-rise jeans paired with a simple white blouse is an example of a showing that works. Conversely, I don’t know how I feel about Pam Anderson and Co. in their Hippie-Go-Chic dresses.  I guess for me, unlike every other day of the week, I’m calling on subtlety if I am to be swept away in a sea of admiration for this movement. Bold prints aren’t going to fly for this cat, although traditionally, there’s nothing ‘I’ll just be over here in the corner ‘about this Retro staple. What about you?  Would you go all out with a classic pattern right out of the ‘Peace Man’ repertoire, or are you more of a less-is-more kind of Gal?  Or….would you brave this look at all?
